When explaining “value” as a tangible thing, we must first decide what we “value” more. The QUICKNESS of the printed product, or the PRICE of the printed product. We have many clients across the country with similar printing requests just like you. Same paper type, colors, and quantities just like your print order. This “value” benefit of co-sharing a press sheet with like clients saves money. And ultimately, DTGraphics passes these hard cost savings “direct” to you with print buying power.

Press Set-up + Number of Press Sheets = Pricing Value
Just like any other manufacturing process, the cost of a product is determined by setup and length of production. Whether we print 100 postcards or 1 million postcards, we still have to: process your order, compose and color separate your data file, compose and burn plates for each and every color needed, hang and register those plates on press, balance the inks on press and then and only then.... start printing.... This is what we call: HARD COST.

From the time we receive your order, there are many departments that touch your print job. From order processing to color separating (ripping) to composing your data file. From burning the metal plates to registering and balancing the inks, these facets are all needed to make a quality printing product.

Let's say, strictly as an example for easy math, that a press run has a hard cost of $800.00 in labor and pre-press material before paper cost and actual pressman time. Let's also say that there are (8) 8.5”x11” areas on that press sheet. Then, every 8.5”x11” (“Holes” as we call them) would have a $100 HARD COST.
